Kaitlyn Colyer

People & Culture Lead

Kaitlyn is an active member in the marching arts community, with a passion for creating a safe and inspiring environment for all involved. Kaitlyn will be working with Rhythm X from a cultural perspective to ensure that the organization continues to lead the way in creating a safe space for the WGI community.

Kaitlyn’s performance career includes credits from the University of Michigan, Onyx, the Madison Scouts, and Rhythm X. She has also taught under various roles with Coldwater High School, Michigan Winter Ensemble, and Chromium Winds. She is currently the color guard director and head dance team coach for Maine West High School.

Kaitlyn graduated from the University of Michigan in 2022 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Studies with a specialization in Organizational Misconduct. Professionally, Kaitlyn is a paralegal working in antitrust law. In her free time, she volunteers with MAASIN to support marching members and staff members experiencing traumatic or harmful organizational environments, as well as educating the next generation of instructors on member safety and positive educational culture. She also serves as an on-call Crisis Counselor and Medical Advocate for Resilience, a survivor nonprofit, in the Chicagoland area.

Outside of work, volunteering, and band, you can find her taking pictures of her two cats Cannoli and Pierogi, or enjoying Chicago’s lakeshore.
